Child sacrifice and the mutilation of children research report released
The findings of the report documents at least one child is mutilated each week in Uganda. Body parts, blood and tissue are removed often while they are still alive.
There is a deep-rooted belief that the use of body parts in traditional medicine makes it stronger and more powerful.
Every community visited during this research produced a firsthand account where a child had been mutilated/sacrificed. Over 10,000 individuals representing every District in Uganda have confirmed a child has been mutilated in their own community.
